Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Big Bear Exteriors (“we,” “us”) handles information collected through bigbearexteriors.com.

Information you give us

When you request an estimate or contact us, we collect the information you enter, such as your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code or service address, the roofing service you’re interested in, project details, and any photo you choose to upload.

How we use it

We use this information to respond to your request, discuss and schedule roofing work, prepare estimates, and keep records of our communication with you. We do not sell your personal information.

Service providers

Our website is hosted by Netlify, which processes form submissions on our behalf. Information may also be handled by email and business software we use to communicate with you. These providers are permitted to use your information only to provide services to us.

Website analytics

We run our own website analytics, stored in our database at our hosting provider, Netlify. It shows us which pages, searches, and ads bring in estimate requests and calls, and where the site could be clearer.

When analytics is on, your browser gets a random visitor ID and session ID, kept in your browser’s local storage (or a first-party cookie if local storage isn’t available). With them we record:

• the pages you view, in order, and how long each one is on screen while you’re using it;
• how you reached the site: the referring website’s domain, campaign tags in the link (such as utm_source), and whether the link came from an ad click, but not the ad-click code itself;
• your approximate city, state, and country, which our hosting provider estimates from your network connection. We don’t store your IP address or ask for your device’s location;
• your device type, browser, and operating system, in broad categories;
• whether you view, start, or try to send a request form, which field needed attention if it couldn’t be sent, and clicks on our phone number, email address, and estimate buttons.

We never record what you type into forms, your keystrokes, screen recordings, or screenshots, and we don’t send your name, phone number, email address, street address, or project description to analytics or advertising providers. If you send a request, we link it to your visit so we can see which page and source it came from.

Visit-level analytics records are deleted after 90 days. We keep daily and monthly totals, without visitor IDs, for up to 13 months.

You can turn analytics off at any time with the Privacy choices link at the bottom of every page; choosing “Don’t allow” also removes the IDs stored in your browser. We don’t run analytics when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal.

Advertising measurement

We advertise on Google and use Google’s advertising tag to measure which ads lead to estimate requests and phone calls. When you send a request, Google is told that a request was sent — not what you wrote. Visitors who arrive from an ad may see a Google forwarding phone number so Google can report that a call happened and how long it lasted; calls still reach us directly.

You can allow or refuse advertising cookies at any time with the Privacy choices link at the bottom of every page. We honor the Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a refusal unless you choose otherwise.

Cookies

The site itself does not require cookies to work. If your browser’s local storage isn’t available, our analytics may keep its random IDs in first-party cookies instead. Advertising providers, if enabled, may set their own cookies. You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings.

Retention and security

We keep request information for as long as needed to respond, provide services, and meet legal and record-keeping obligations. We use reasonable safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Your choices

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information you’ve provided by emailing choosebigbear@gmail.com or calling (360) 803-1509.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows when it was last changed.
